What is head-up display augmented reality (AR/ HUD) & how does it work?
Head-up display augmented reality (AR/ HUD)  is the latest evolution in HUD. 

The windscreen is the master mirror within the HUD system. The design and the quality of the windscreen has an impact on the overall quality of the HUD system. Drivers see a virtual image, not a flat static picture on the windscreen, but as “floating” over the hood at an average distance of about two meters

•    Big HUD
- image distance 2-3 m / 4-5 m 
- virtual image size c. 400 x 100 mm / 700 x 370 mm
•    Augmented reality (AR) HUD

HUD is applicable on almost every feature. This makes it very interesting because windscreens are becoming more and more complicated. HUD is compatible with features such as Climacoat and IR (infrared) reflective coatings. 

What are the benefits of an HUD system?

• Displays (project) images (arrows, symbols etc.) and information directly into the driver’s line of sight such as: lane keeping, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign and over speed warning. 
• No extensive re-focusing of eyes necessary anymore. For instance, to the digital instrument panel. 
In short, safer driving: eyes on the road and hands on the wheel.

Besides the ID.4 and the Enyaq iV the Audi e-tron GT and the Audi Q4 e-tron are also equipped with Saint-Gobain Sekurit head-up display and will be available via Sekurit Service soon.
