Sekurit Service publishes world’s first  Environmental Product Declaration (EPD®)  for the Automotive Aftermarket.

Saint-Gobain’s distribution brand for the automotive glazing aftermarket – Sekurit Service, is today proud to share documentation verified by a 3rd party highlighting its commitment to continuously improving the environmental impact of its products.

This Environmental Product Declaration (EPD®) describes the environmental impacts of 1 kg of two Laminated Windshields (thickness 2.1/1.6 mm and 2.1/2.1mm) and its packaging manufactured in its plant in Estonia, and to be used in the automotive aftermarket.

Showing leadership & commitment

Marion Berger, Sustainability Manager explains, “Following thorough data collection in our plant in Estonia and LCA-expertise, we are excited to finally publish our first EPD and be the first in our market to do so. This is direct proof of our leadership and our commitment to transparency and sustainability. It’s also aligned with the Saint-Gobain purpose of ‘Making the World a Better home’.”

Key indicators

Marion continues:

“The EPD is an extensive detailed document, so to complement it we also created a simple-to-read infographic. It focuses on 3 key indicators that we felt were the most important pieces of information to take away from the document. These indicators are namely: Climate Change Total, Use of Freshwater (FW), Use of Secondary Material (SM).”

Made in Europe
